One Direction – Not the Boy Band

If you haven’t been living under a rock the last year or two, then you’ve probably heard of the British boy band, One Direction.

Aren’t they cuties?  This post has nothing to do with them.  It’s about where I see myself in 6 months from now.  I have taken a break from writing.  It’s been maybe 3 or 4 weeks since I touched anything I was working on.  It had suddenly become too much work and I realized that I wasn’t enjoying it anymore.  So I took a break.  My unfinished projects have been haunting me though and I knew I had to focus a little more and decide what I’m going to put my efforts into.
This is what I’ve started but not finished:

1. My 2nd novel, “The Keeper” which is about 1/3 done.
2. “Bedtime Stories Vol. II – Domination Diaries – about 1/2 done.                                                 3. Polishing my first novel, “A Mother’s Love” in preparation for the print version – about 1/3 done.                                                                                                                                                         4. My blog – I would like to have more time to spend on blog posts and post twice a week instead of once.

After much consideration, this is what I intend to do (of course, that is unless I change my mind, like I often do) over the course of the next 4-6 months.

1.  The Keeper is going into the vault and on some dark and rainy night, I might just take it back out again.  Then again, I might not.                                                                                                    2.  I’m going to focus on my Bedtime Story series  because sex sells for now and finish the second volume asap.  I already have ideas for the next two.                                                                                                                                                          3.  I’m going to get this damn editing done so that I can finalize the print copy.                            4. Take a little time each night to do something for/on my blog.  I’m sure that you’ve also noticed that I’ve done a little redecorating.  I was bored and I wanted it to reflect the direction I’m going.

So there you have it.  My goals for the next 4-6 months.  I hope I didn’t make you want to poke your own eyes out bore you too much.

What big things are keeping YOU busy lately?  Did you make any New Year’s resolutions or did you do like me and say “Fuck it.” don’t pay much attention to it.  But then again, I really hate blending in with the crowd and be considered the same as everyone else.  I mean…who wants to be invisible?  Not me.

  3. Keeping me busy: moving house, taking a play up to Manchester, writing my second play… Resolutions? Don’t do them. They only lead to disappointment. A bit like looking at One Direction…Good luck with your goals.

  4. How come they always have boy bands for the girls, but never have any girl bands for the boys? I can just see gangs of screaming boys running after… oh, okay, maybe that’s why.

  5. Thank you for showing me what One Direction looks like, the latest example of manufactured teen idols that could be the great-grandsons of that bland, photogenic, vanilla chap from wayback, Fabian. Here he is a the height of his popularity badly lip-syncing to his bit hit, “Turn Me Loose.”

My pal, Milton, has a hard time finishing anything he starts writing. In fact, just talking about what he is thinking about writing is enough to exhaust him. At least you have several projects in various stages of development. I say just finish one and then move onto the next, but I am a rather methodical clod-type. I’m working on My Manhattan Project which will eventually be revealed.

  6. You are never invisible no matter what you are getting up to my fine and wickedly great friend, indeed there is plenty of time to be wicked, I mean to be creative with one thing and the other (the other being the operative wording but we won’t even go there, especially with you being so tongue-in-cheek naughty all the time ;) )

If you are going to be adding more here then try some short postings, maybe the FTP’s could be a good idea as they are easy to write and enhance one’s Space with many different themes and plots incorporated within the challenges. I do like the new set up around here, though I do prefer a darker looking Space, probably so that I can hide the coffin out of sight, after all I don’t want to be scaring anyone away from my scripts :( lol

Do you know what, there are going to be some ridiculously annoying grammar typos in this lengthy comment of mine but guess what? I am not about to check it out so hard lines ;) lmao Okay time for me to sharpen my fangs and to find that bloody cape of mine :) lol Have fun tonight Wendy and be good, well not too good as that would be asking far too much, being that you are always so cheeky :)

  7. I just heard this morning Taylor Swift broke up with him. Oh, I have to finish my book, then edit, edit, edit. My computer blew up New Years eve so I had to buy a new one (ouch!). I’m still trying to put everything back on that I need. sighhhh

  8. I didn’t know where I was when I first opened this page. New look. One Direction boys. How scary is it that I can see my teenage son in there? Am I really old enough to have a son that could be in a boy band? Apparently so.

Good luck with your goals. Putting them out there for the world to see is a good way to stick with them. :)

    Like the new look!

    • That’s what I’m hoping for twindaddy. It’s not for lack of creativity…I KNOW how I want the story to go, but the entire process started to feel too overwhelming….with editing and marketing piled on top for good measure.

  9. Me? I was knitting cowls for the granddaughters and blogging and putting off editing my book and reading. And working with my CASA kids and wrapping Christmas gifts and going to Christmas and birthday parties, which is why I haven’t edited my book. Oh, and my computer crashed and I had to restore all my stuff once the OS was put back on. That was my December. It also ate a whole in my wallet.

    • So, you’ve stopped listening to the radio? Those little freaks are everywhere. In fact, one of them is dating Taylor Swift. I hear she’s writing a new break up song about him already.

  10. Good luck with your goals. Sometimes putting a book away for a bit can be the best thing for the writing. When you come back to it, you see it in a turned perspective that is really helpful.
